December 2008

Incredibly this is my first - and possibly last - post in December. Most of the negligence is attributable to a certain laziness but money has been pretty tight lately and my journal charges by the word so you can probably see where I’m going with this excuse explanation.

First off, before I forget: Happy Birthday Jesus! I still remember the day like it was yesterday. Everyone seemed so satisfied back then. If you had a camel and some frankincense you were happy. It was a simpler time I suppose.

I didn’t get him anything - again. He gets me eternal salvation and I can’t even send him a damn card. So Jesus, if you’re watching - and word has it you are - I’ll get you something next year. Or, if things go really bad sometime in 2009, I’ll deliver it in person.

Special thanks to Santa Claus as well. I think it’s amazing how giving he is every year (Jesus, watch your ass, someone’s gaining on you) but what really impresses me about the Jolly Old Soul is the way his presents always stay so modern. Each and every year he ALWAYS has the latest in modern convenience and technologies. Elves must be masters of the retro-fitting process.

We’re well into bowl season now and I’ll once again bring up my suggestion of a cleaning company sponsoring one of these championships so we can finally have - wait for it - The TidyBowl Bowl.

(with jokes like that one, no wonder the writing’s become so sparse)
