DELTA opens for ERIC BACHMANN and RICHARD BUCKNER at HORSESHOE

Toronto, Sat Sept 16th: Local alt country act Delta opens for Eric Bachmann at the Legendary Horseshoe Tavern. Bachmann, touring North America with various musicians including Richard Buckner, is playing songs from "To The Races", released August 22nd on Saddle Creek records.

Delta has been steadily shaking at the foundations of roots rock in North America, through their live appearances at The Hole in The Wall in Austin, Texas; their enduring residency at The Cameron House; headlining at The Legendary Horseshoe Tavern; or through the kudos of journalists at Canadian Music Week. Building on the dust kicked up by their 2006 demo EP, serious fans of the genre would do well to catch the band while there’s still room left in the corral.

Garnering opening slots for established acts like Bachmann represents yet another step in the continuing ascendancy of the band. Count Craig Lasky, booker for Against the Grain Management, as both a big fan of the music and a helpful ally of securing Delta prime opening alt country slots.

Discerning Toronto audiences still delight at the best kept roots rock secret in the city. Whether marveling at frontwoman Emily Weedon’s timelessly haunting vocals (a little Dolly, a little Lucinda, a little Carter Cash); being dazzled by the immensely virtuoso talents of bassist Gord Light (White Cowbell Oklahoma), drummer Jesse Capon (Atomic 7) and lap/guitarist Martin Crawford (The Pickups) or simply being engrossed by the beautiful fusion created, musical enthusiasts will be hard pressed to avoid catching the terribly contagious and addictive Delta flu.
