Bestow upon your child
- Your only child –
A name so wildly unique,
So tellingly distinctive
To forever imbed your exceptional mark as exceptional parents
And perhaps,
Bequeath
To this child,
A charmed life.
A life of spectacular splendor.
A life filled with the inquisitive
Just having to know,
Dying to know,
That name -
Where did it come from?
Yet, for me,
Those Nine simple,
Seemingly innocuous,
Little letters that
Phonetically meld
To create a stew
So vile
And putrid.
Never to be washed away.
An emotional palate
Never to be cleansed.
Forever damned to the throng of the nameless.
Forever to dwell amongst the vast unknown.
My signature.
That repulsive, repulsive inheritance,
Denying me My Life
Of Artistic Merit
Professional Recognition,
And Literary Accolades.
